About Me:

Daana is a highly experienced physiotherapist with over 15 years of clinical practice in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy/rehabilitation. She holds a PhD and MSc in Physiotherapy from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Alberta. Daana has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta and an Assistant Professor at AJUMS, where she instructed Master's and PhD-level physiotherapy students. Her teaching portfolio includes advanced courses such as Sports Physiotherapy, Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic Physiotherapy, Manual Therapy, and Exercise Therapy. Daana is also a prolific researcher, having published numerous studies on topics including: Knee sports injuries and rehabilitation (e.g., ACL injuries, meniscal tears, and runner’s knee pain) Knee osteoarthritis management Foot and ankle injury rehabilitation Chronic neck pain Daana has a strong interest and proven success in treating: Knee ligament and meniscus injuries, including ACL injuries and reconstructions Ankle and foot injuries, including running injuries Shoulder injuries, such as rotator cuff tears and shoulder dislocations/subluxations Post-operative rehabilitation for knee and hip replacements Her treatment philosophy emphasizes comprehensive assessment, accurate diagnosis, and patient involvement.
