We are pleased to offer you our convenient direct billing service at no additional cost. However, we kindly request your understanding that direct billing cannot be guaranteed for every appointment. This is due to potential issues with individual benefits plans, problems with submission portals, or logistical considerations at our clinic.

If you have multiple extended health providers for your insurance coverage, please note that we can only bill the primary insurance company directly. For any secondary insurance coverage, you will be responsible for submitting the claim manually. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

For direct billing with GWL, Sun Life, and Manulife, we kindly ask that you provide a credit card on file. This is necessary due to the inconsistent reliability of insurer portals. Rest assured, your card information will be handled securely and in accordance with privacy regulations.

How does direct billing actually work?

Simplify your insurance claims process with our direct billing system. Just provide us with your policy number/ID, and we’ll swiftly submit it via our secure web portal. The portal determines the precise amount covered by your benefits plan, while any remaining balance can be settled during your visit.

Do I have to pay anything?

Based on the portal response and your individual coverage, there may be a remaining portion (USER FEE) of the visit fee that you will need to pay. For instance, if your coverage is 80% of a $100 visit fee, you will be responsible for paying $20, while the portal will cover the remaining $80. Please note that the exact amount may vary depending on your specific coverage and the response from the portal.

Which treatments can you directly bill for?

Please note that coverage for Physiotherapy, (RMT)Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Counselling, and Naturopath treatments may vary depending on your individual insurance plan. It is important to review your policy to understand the specific details of your coverage for each treatment type. Our team is available to assist you in navigating your insurance benefits to ensure you make the most of your coverage.

Can I see what my coverage includes or how many visits are covered?

The submission portal functions as a real-time submission tool for clinics, enabling the creation of timely claims. However, it does not provide features to check statements, limits, policies, etc. Its functionality is similar to a credit card terminal, capable of processing payments but not verifying card balances. To inquire about coverage details, remaining balance, deductible, or other policy-related benefits, kindly reach out to your insurance provider directly.

Can I pay in advance for my future visits using direct billing?

Regrettably, we are unable to facilitate direct billing for future visits. We can only process direct billing for services that have been rendered and documented. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Can you direct bill for massage therapy (RMT), acupuncture, Naturopath, and physiotherapy in a single day?

Yes, we can.

Do I gotta have a referral from a doctor?

In most cases, a doctor referral is not required for Physiotherapy, Acupuncture, Naturopath, and Massage Therapy (RMT) as they are direct access services in BC. However, it’s important to note that individual benefits plans may have specific requirements. While we have encountered only a few instances where direct billing was denied due to a lack of doctor referral, we cannot guarantee that all plans will not require one.

Why do some insurance companies cover some members differently than others?

Insurance coverage varies based on individual plans and insurance companies. It’s important to note that Pacific Blue Cross, for instance, offers a range of plans with coverage levels varying from as low as 10% to full coverage for treatment. Understanding your specific plan details is crucial for informed decision-making and managing your healthcare expenses effectively.

What happens if my plan covers the entire treatment cost?

We are pleased to inform you that no additional payment is required during your appointment. Our services are fully covered under your benefits plan, ensuring a hassle-free and convenient experience.

What if I have multiple insurance plans? Can you assist in coordinating them?

Regrettably, we currently do not provide coordination of benefits services. Our direct billing is limited to one plan only. In the case of multiple plans, you will need to personally reach out to the other plan provider for reimbursement. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Do I still get a receipt if I direct bill?

Upon payment of the remaining portion not covered by your plan, you will receive a receipt. Additionally, we are able to provide you with a printed statement confirming the submission of your direct billing through the portal. Rest assured, we strive to offer comprehensive documentation for your convenience and records.

What if you can't do direct billing, like if the portal is down or something?

Payment for your appointment can be made conveniently using cash, debit, or credit card. We will provide you with a detailed receipt that you can easily submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement. Our aim is to ensure a seamless experience for you while maximizing your insurance benefits.

Do you do direct billing for all services provided by different practitioners?

The answer simply is YES.
